Over the years there have been a few cellphone concepts developed with wood in mind. LG most recently teased the public with faux wood concepts, and Hulger has actually built a wooden phone… but only about four people in the world could afford it. However, Nokia’s got the answer it seems. Their eco-team has designed and created the phone which you see here. The phone boasts an 8 megapixel camera in the handset, and appears to function just as any normal handset would. The thing probably isn’t coming to market, but it’s always nice to see off the wall concepts.

g-15 Got a ton of cell phones that you still use? We’re talking multiple cell phones from different makers that are all still active? Well if that’s the case, then chances are you’ve been dreaming of this charger. This ugly little brick has ports for 8 different connectors including Motorola, Nokia, Samsung, Siemens, and Sony Ericcson. Don’t expect it to be comfortable to carry around either, as it doesn’t come with a case and is quite pokey with all those chargers.

While your cell phone bill may be through the rough, this charger will only run you $18.

g-3 With the expected October launch date for the Nokia N79 and N85 in Europe coming on us fast, it’s high time that the specs of both systems get solidified.

Considering these phones have already received an FCC approval (just no set date as of yet for a stateside launch) we’ve got all the information you’ll need to decide if these phones are for you.

The N85 is a powerhouse with it’s 2.6 in screen, GPS, 5 megapixel camera, N-Gage compatibility, 8GB of storage, WiFi, and a purported battery life of 28-hours when it comes to playing music.

The N79 bumps the N78 out of the way, offering a 5 megapixel camera with dual LED flash, GPS, 4GB storage, WiFi, swappable covers, and up to 24 hours of music playback.

Either choice seems like a winner in our book.

g-2 HTC has managed to win over many phone users in the past several years. Whether swinging them from their existing smart phone or breaking them into the scene, HTC has been there for it all. But the main turn off for a lot of people interested in the HTC was the lack of standard keypad for dialing if it had a keyboard.

HTC has decided to fix that issue by revamping their old S710 series, but making it tough enough to stand with the big dogs. The phone runs Windows Mobile Stanard and offers a full QWERTY keypad that can be slid out from underneath. You’re also looking at 7.2Mbps HSDPA speeds on both 900 and 2100MHz bands, quadband EDGE, a 3.2 megapixel camera, WiFi, GPS, and a very sharp 2.4 inch QVGA display.

The candy bar styling will keep things nice and simple until you truly need to bust out that full keyboard for whatever reason you may have.

First Screenshots of Nokia’s TubePictures of Nokia’s Tube, the touted first touch screen device to operate with the Symbian S60 operating system, have surfaced all over the web. The guys over at Symbian-Freak and Engadget have managed to take the pictures they have received of the device and enhance them for you to see.

The Tube operates on quad-band GSM/EDGE and UMTS/HSDPA, and includes built-in Bluetooth, WiFi, uPnP, GPS, and XpressMedia support. The screen operates at a 16:9 aspect ratio but doesn’t offer any multitouch support.

It’s kind of curious as to why they keep comparing it to an iPhone. Do I smell an inferiority complex already?

Nokia is expecting this to be the lowest powered of their touch screen models to operate on the S60 firmware, so keep your eyes peeled.

N-Gage Software Goes Live MondayAfter the short life that the N-Gage enjoyed as the mutated offspring of a cell phone and a Tiger Electronic hand-held system, it has officially become reborn. Owners of Nokia phones N81, N81 8GB, N82, N95 can pre-load the software for this Monday’s official launch. The N-Gage software will act as a Steam or Xbox Live service for all the games that the network has to offer. Hopefully, we’ll be seeing games like Pocket Kingdom: Own The World come back to the service and make cellular gaming less of a joke then it currently is. At least it doesn’t cost $59.99 for the service.

Nokia N95 8GB Announced For U.S. ReleaseU.S. fans of Maddox’s witty rant about the iPhone will undoubtedly jump for joy when they hear that Nokia has officially announced that their N95 8GB will make it’s way stateside. With a 5.0 megapixel camera enhanced with Carl Zeiss optics, built-in A-GPS, Wi-Fi, HSDPA and dual sliding functionality, there isn’t much this device can’t do.

Nokia is willing to let loyal customers in on the benefits of their Nokia Maps voice guidance system for 6 months free if they’re willing to drop the $749 on picking up this bad larry. We’ll most likely see this excellent piece of hardware branded and subsidized under some of the major carriers but by how much and who is anyones guess.
