Asus has unfortunately decided that instead of moving in the right direction with other products, they will instead continue to make more multicolored and different styled Eee PC’s. This time around, it looks the the 900 series is the one on the receiving end of this face lift. The 901A will now be in a luscious blue and the 900A will be gilded. There’s nothing special going on inside of either of these models that seperates them from their plain colored counterparts so we’ll just have to wait and see if there is any sort of premium slapped on to these more fancy models.
If so, maybe the lack of sales will actually cause Asus to get back to making real products?

The Asus Eee PC family has decided to offer quite the price drop over the past few days. Perhaps it was inspired by the competition that has entered the market with the new Dell Inspiron Mini 9 netbook? Either way, we’re looking at some pretty great deals here.
The Asus Eee PC 901 is now available for just $500 and offers a 8.9-inch display, 1.6GHz Intel Atom CPU, 1GB of RAM, 12GB SSD, and a 6-cell battery.
The Asus Eee PC 1000H is now available for $449 and offers a 10-inch display, 1GB RAM, a 6-cell battery, 80GB hard disk, and XP.
You can pick either of these up for the mentioned price from Amazon.com

It’s finally arrived! The MSI Wind U90 has finally made its way onto the store shelves. The Linux version of the ever popular MSI has been highly anticipated since the announcement of the system awhile back, but has been evading us until just recently. The Wind U90 will be running SUSE Linux exclusively, however there will be an XP version of it in the near future.
This new model MSI Wind will be available by the end of September or beginning of October and will go for a shiny 339 Euro’s. Unfortunately no word has been given yet on a stateside release date nor have we heard anymore on the upgrade to the 6 cell battery MSI has been promising.

The Lenovo Ideapad S10 netbook has finally received some official details. The device seems to be fairly well equipped and still weighs in just under 2.4 lbs. Holding a Windows XP pre installed OS, 10 inch LED Backlit screen, and a solid Intel Atom N270 under it’s little hood, this device may make some waves in the netbook pool.
They’ve a lot to offer, especially considering that the $399 model offers 512mb of ram and a 80GB hard drive, while the $450 model is 1GB ram and a 160GB hard drive.
Check out the full specs after the break:

The netbooks have taken over and what’s worse is that many of them have tried their hands in a desktop version. While crappy desktops such as the eMachines series have existed in this price range for quite some time, no one has managed to find a mini-desktop in a low price range that has even been worth considering.
That is, of course, until the Asus Eee Box B202.
This device has been put through the wringer and is still kicking. Requiring little more energy then an Eee PC 900, this device has done everything satisfactorily or above on every level it claims to handle (baring intense or even moderate gaming) except for displaying full 1080p digital video. For a nettop (lets see if it sticks!) running you $299, the Asus Eee Box B202 can handle just about anything you need and not break the bank.

Sylvania’s first leap into the world of netbooks was a flop to say the least, as they simply rebranded the Cloudbook to suit their needs. With the new G netbook coming closer to launch, not much was expected out of it until the price tag and specs were revealed.
For $299 you’ll be getting a 1.6GHz Intel Atom CPU, 1GB RAM, 80GB hard drive, and an 8.9in screen with 1024×600 resolution. The system itself comes loaded with XP or Ubuntu, but unfortunately you can’t customize it’s ugly appearance.
If they can keep the price tag at this range, look out Asus!

Netbooks seem to be taking over the world, and LG wants to hop onboard. The irony of it? They want MSI, the creators of the Wind (quite possibly the Eee PC’s most formidable foe) to build their X110 Netbook.
It would be safe to say that MSI is a quality company all around and are definitely kicking butt in this category. So why would they consider building their competitions system?
Well for starters, LG is looking to fill this baby with an 8.9 inch screen, 120GB hard drive, 2GB ram, and comes stock with Windows XP. That means that the price is expected to be between $625 and $790, making this the most expensive Netbook available. Their goal is quality over affordability.
MSI would be smart to take their money.

Confuse hits the masses as Asus’s numerous line of numbered systems finally catches up with them. The release of the long awaited Asus Eee PC 901 series has got big sellers like Amazon and New Egg all confused. Are they selling the 900 or the 901?
While right now the item is listed as not having been released, it may not be the best bet to start putting your money down on the table. These figures could change, just like what always happens with confusion. But regardless, it looks like the U.S. will finally be getting an Atom based Eee PC in the relative future.
Let’s wait and see which one it is!
