Honda is known for making its mark in different parades – but next year at the Rose Parade in Pasadena it looks like they will be creating a memory that we won’t easily forget. Their float will show off a large replica of the ASIMO – which will have generators that will allow “the hood of the truck to fold forward to become an aircraft cockpit, the doors and sides of the truck to unfold outward to become wings, the wheels to tuck under the body, and the bed of the truck to open and take on the form of an aircraft tail section, complete with rocket engines - and even real fire.”

Poetically enough they are calling it the “Passport to the Future”. You can bet that we if we aren’t there in person we will definitely be sitting at out televisions waiting to see what happens.

It isn’t often that we get to see a futuristic looking vehicle at work. The new Aptera Typ-1 is said to be ultra aerodynamic and boasts more power and more features than your average consumer vehicle. Popular Mechanics tested the Type-1 to prove (or dis-prove) just how powerful the vehicle really was and was actually able to take a test drive in it. I have found that one of the best inventions for a vehicle – besides the DVD player – is the GPS navigation system. I am the type of person who finds themselves lost no matter where I go. Lucy for us there is plenty of choices to choose from. One of the newest GPS navigation systems that was released are the C620 and the C620t from Mio Technology. (more…)

Don’t you hate it when you have to make a phone call while you are driving and you have to wait for a red light before you can do anything? You could always take your eyes off the road for the few seconds it takes for you to dial the number – but we all know that this could lead to a serious accident.

Finally there is a device that can help us with this. It is a hands free Wheel Bluetooth Kit. It is an easier for you to make important phone calls all at your fingertips (literally). The new kit fits easily on to your steering wheel and has a small screen that allows you to view your phone book easily. It also has call-control buttons and a speakerphone that allows you to easily talk with someone.

Those who are already taking advantage of the many features of the iPhone will be happy to know that Apple is taking it one step further. For now you have the ability to use the phone as an iPod, a phone, and you have the ability to listen to music and access the internet. But what if you could do all those things in the comfort of you brand new vehicle? What if you could use it to turn your car on?

Those of you who are looking to get one of the new Land Rover LRX vehicles will be happy to know that you can do just this. Engineers have created a place in the middle console where any iPhone or iPod can sit. When placed in its cradle the iPhone will automatically connect to the electronic system of the car. Through the iPhone passengers can make hands-free phone calls, listen to music, and even start the car. Who could ask for more?
