We’re finally going to see some Pico Projectors!
There have been numerous announcements over the past several months declaring that we’ll actually be seeing one soon, but now we’re talking official launches. The 3M LED Pico Projector has officially be slated for a September 30th stateside launch.
Dubbed the MPro110, this little device is going to run you $359. Unfortunately it’s lacking a built in speaker, but where exactly would you put it on this device?
The review done on the MPro110 found it lacking in brightness in some movie scenes to the point where it was indecipherable as to what was going on. But for it’s size and the overall quality, it’s a good first Pico Projector.

Mint Wireless, an Australian based company, is claiming that their Mint V10 is the worlds smallest commercial pocket projector. The device itself is only about 125 x 55 x 23 mm, making it as small as they say it is, but how does it perform?
Apparently, the 20,000 hour LED lamp doesn’t need to be warmed up and the battery can last for several hours of 640 x 480 pixel presentations. You can choose to hook this mini device up to your computer, pop in an SD card, or use it’s 1GB of internal memory.
If you’ve got $600 and a trip planned to Australia already, this is definitely something to pick up.

Sanyo announced today that their new Xacti DMX-CA8 waterproof camcorder will be available in Japan around the middle of May. The Xacti DMX-CA8 will have an 8.0 megapixel CMOS sensor, a 5x optical zoom, and face chaser capabilities. The new camcorder will also be able to take pictures underwater at depths of up to 1.5 meters for periods of no longer than an hour.
There is currently no official word as to when the camcorder will be available in the United States, but the Xacti DMX-CA8 is expected to retail for around the yen equivalent of $490 when it releases in Japan.

Some where between your cell phone video camera and your average video camera stands the Flip Video. This little device has the standard design of a regular digital camera but offers a very simple and easy user interface so that almost anyone could pick it up and get rolling.
I had some hands on time when I was down in New York with Zipvo Real Estate Video Network and that’s really the field that I think this device is going to take off in the most. The two models, 60min for $179,99 and 30min for $149.99 made it so easy for us to record a property video and upload it through it’s built in USB. The only draw back is that their software is only easy for the third parties they’re working with instead of making it open source. Opening up their platform would be the smartest moves they could possibly make.

How would you like to have your own personalized international channel (whatever that means?) How about just some decent quality video editing and live broadcasting equipment in an oversized laptop design? If the latter is what you seek then the UCCTOP Xeno is the right device for you. According to the product site, the Xeno is designed for filming, editing and broadcasting all in one package. The Xeno comes with a 4-channel video switcher, 6-channel audio mixer, and ability to control external devices such as cameras. As you can tell from the photo to the right, the Xeno has a keyboard specifically designed to accommodate video editing and broadcasting. I am not into filming and video editing but I doubt that anyone but a few amateurs will decide to purchase the Xeno. Professionals will continue to use higher-end equipment which might not be portable but gets the job done at the quality necessary.

The just announced, Cowon N3 PMP has DivX/Xvid support, GPS has a 7 inch screen. It looks almost identical to their Q5 PMP but with a 2 inch larger screen. So besides the screen, what else is different? Well its also a GPS and has DMB abilities. Another major difference would be the fact that the N3 does not have any internal memory but rather uses two built in SDHC slots. In any event TGB is looking forward to getting a hand on with this unit.

I guess our plea to Microsoft to start shipping the Zune 80’s were finally heard. Microsoft says they plan on shipping the Zune 80 begining next week, just in time for the Holiday rush.
It seems that Microsoft decided it was best to produce more flash zunes but quickly realized the demand for the 80 was much greater. So there is finally light at the end of the tunnel for the 80gigers.
