For those of you who’ve been placing your big ‘ole HDTV on just any surface, Sony has a solution for you. Their newest home cinema, the Sony RHT-G500 is considered to be an invisible TV stand. This piece of kit may look like a just another piece of furniture, but it actually has a 3.1 channel audio system equipped with S-Force PRO Front Surround technology, HDMI inputs (including pass through), PMP connector, bluetooth, and Wi-Fi.
The stand can support between 32 and 40 inch HDTV’s (as many in that range tend to weigh the same). As of yet, there is no pricing information available.

The retro style is huge in the design world but so are flat screen TV’s so how can you mesh the two together to get the style you want with the modern amenity you desire? This cool new retro flat screen is just the way to keep the style of your home in sync with that great television you have always wanted.
This TV comes with a 42in plasma screen TV house in a retro style set that is sure to leave your friends in awe and possibly fool anyone who comes to rob you. After all who would want an old outdated TV or at least one that looks like it is out dated?

Enormous TV shames other, less enormous TVs
10 million pixels. 2,100 square feet. $22 million. Now that is a TV that even the most jaded, spoiled couch potato can get excited about. At the Comcast Center in Philly exists a TV so glorious that it is five times the resolution of HDTV. The thing handles 27,000 gigabytes of info and (obviously) needs its own control room. Forget about Wii Sports in a movie theatre, I want to play it on this.

The fact that we can access the internet without any wires is a luxury that we all enjoy. So why couldn’t we be able to do the same thing with HDTV? It is something that many people have dreamed of accomplishing and yet not many people have been able to accomplish until now. Apparently the 2008 CES was the great time and place for dozens of companies to show off this new technology. Some companies are ready to start selling this year and others are still working out the kinks.
LG is one of the many that is offering the wireless technology for 1080p on their PG70 plasma 60” and 50” televisions and will come standard on their LG71 LCD. LG has done a great job on creating a crystal clear picture on a video that is compressed with JPEG 2000. LG will be shipping its models in August.

Who needs to go to the movie theatre when you could have your very own personal theatre right in your own living room. Panasonic has built a huge 150” HD plasma television – which would have any jaw dropping to the floor by any who passed by.
The new ‘Life Screen’ was introduced at the CES show by the President of Panasonic AVC Networks Co. – Toshiro Sakamoto. “This stunning display allows you to see the elephant in the room in all its glory,” Sakamoto said. “We believe Life Screen gives new meaning to the words ‘reality TV,’” Sakamoto said.” (more…)

MovieBeam has been calling their customers letting them know that they will be shutting off their service on December 15th with some customers eligable for a refund on hardware. Im really not surpized by this what-so-ever. The reviews on the quality of video has been sub par at best and with limited selections it was really only a matter of time. It was truly a nice concept, and I would have loved to seen it take off. But ever since they spun off from Disney a couple of years ago, the company has been taking a beating and really couldnt get it right.

It wasnt too long ago when we heard rumblings about a $200 or $300 HD DVD player being available at Wal-Mart. Months went by and we still didnt see it materialize until now. A off brand player has finally come through. Venturer’s SHD7000 HD DVD player should be hitting your local Wal-Mart as you read this. The 1080i player is selling $50 cheaper than we had thought, coming in at only $199. If your not ready for 1080p than why not give this cheaper solution a spin while you wait for the prices to come down on the 1080p’s.
