With the App Store breaking over 2,000 apps available for download, we’ve already seen several issues arise from rights holders asking for apps to be removed and way over priced apps being banned. But just recently, Microsoft has made a decision to let developers make apps that integrate with their Xbox Live service under the condition that they do so for free. Right now there are three apps that handle this, and one of them has decided to turn a deaf ear to Microsofts demands. iLive, the worst out of all the Xbox Live iPhone apps is still charging $1.99!
We’ll have to wait and see what Microsoft does about this, considering they’re the ones providing the information for this app to pull from.

If you’ve been a fan of gaming for awhile, you’re probably familiar with Microsofts brand SideWinder. While SideWinder hasn’t really had anything noteable come from it in the past several years, the good old [nostalgic] boys over at Microsoft have decided to add another peripheral to their line up.
The SideWinder X6 is reportedly one of the best designed gaming keyboards to date. The entire keyboard has been redesigned from the ground up and even includes a switchable key pad. You can easily set those additional keys to macros for non-gaming purposes as well.
But you can’t simply by the SideWinder X6 keyboard without at least checking out the 2,000 DPI last tracking engine, six DPI on the fly adjustable, 9 customizable button X5 mouse.
At $79.95 for the X6 keyboard and $59.95 for the X5 mouse, these bad boys are definitely worth it.

The FCC has been a great source of information in the past few years, revealing plenty about new gadgets before they are even spoken about at conferences. So when Sony tried to slide their PSP-3001 under the radar and straight through the FCC, we had to wonder why.
The design is lacking more than anything else. The only feature that it looks to have over the PSP-2001 is that it is being tested for use on the 2.4GHz spectrum allowing it to connect to 802.11b WiFi. The rest is a road of disappointment.
There’s no GPS, 802.11 N, Bluetooth, or redesigned mic and home button location.
Perhaps more is hidden in the confidentiality documents that Sony requested. Only time will tell.

Tired of staring at that old and broken NES? Instead of letting it take up space somewhere in your attic or basement, why not turn it into something a little bit more unique that you can bring with you everyday? No, I’m not talking about making it into a robot, I’m talking about an NES lunchbox!
Over at Instructables, Fluctifragus posted a do-it-yourself guide on how to easily transform your NES console into the most impressive of lunchboxes. You don’t need any crazy tools to do the job either, just a rotary tool, two small hinges, and some glue. Just remember to take your copy of Bubble Bobble out of the system first!

Rumors have turned into reality as the 60GB Xbox 360’s are starting to enter the retail world. Anywhere from Amazon to Circuit City seem to be getting at least indications that they’ll be receiving them in the upcoming weeks, but there isn’t much to go off of as to an official over all release.
Microsoft’s Major Nelson has stated that there isn’t going to be an over all launch for the 60GB’s, they’ll just slowly trickle their way out and become common place on the store shelves. Unfortunate for those hunting for them, who care for everyone else.

Comcast is att it again with their Triple Play give-a-way. This time, instead of giving away Eee PC’s or a PS3, they’re giving away a Nintendo Wii with every service plan. As long as you don’t have an existing Comcast account, signing up for their digital cable, VOIP, and high speed internet for a two year contract will earn you a Nintendo Wii.
This comes as a surprise to many as their has yet to be a surplus of Nintendo Wii’s on any store shelves all these months after the fact. So either this means there while be an influx in the number of Nintendo Wii’s available or that Nintendo and Comcast are rubbing shoulders.
If only they could work together and make their own Sega Channel.

Sega Genesis fans rejoice! If you haven’t been able to keep up with the batteries required to power your Sega Nomad and have only been playing a few games, the Blaze might be just the gadget for you.
This handheld MegaDrive system comes loaded with 20 different games, ranging from awesome to sucktastic, and has the exact same controller layout as a regular Sega Genesis controller.
Here’s a list of the games that come loaded onto the Blaze after the jump:

GPS is amazing for when you get lost. But the potential for it to be one of the gaming worlds most popular add-ons in existence is through the roof. With the 3G iPhone, games are already being developed that can take advantage of the GPS functionality, bringing Desktop Tower Defense style games into the real world.
What’s really impressive, however, is the plan to utilize the PSP’s GPS add-on for exactly this purpose. Sony and several other third party studios are already planing on developing games that can take full advantage of this system.
Too bad, of course, that no one has a PSP….

Have a NetFlix subscription and an Xbox 360? Well you’re in luck. An update scheduled for this Fall is slated to include the ability for NetFlix subscribers to easily play any of the Watch It Now movies or tv shows that NetFlix has made available on their website directly through your Xbox 360.
While this may not seem huge to those of you without one or either, the ability to watch movies instantly without having to wait for them in the mail or plug your laptop/desktop directly into your TV (which rarely ever works right and can take up plenty of time) adds even more value to the already cheap price of NetFlix and the relatively reasonable price of an Xbox Live Gold subscription.

As many of you gaming fans out there know that while the Xbox 360 controller worked great and had a lot of cool functions it just wasn’t very pleasing to the eye. In reality it was down right boring, that was until just recently. Microsoft the makers of the Xbox have chosen to incorporate cool colors into their controllers.
While you still will only have the three colors to choose from, flashy red, bright green and the dull and normal black, there might be more colors to come in the future. The game will continue to come packaged with the old dull black controllers but for about $60 you can purchase one of the other two colors that are available to date. Xbox players show your true colors!
