Some where between your cell phone video camera and your average video camera stands the Flip Video. This little device has the standard design of a regular digital camera but offers a very simple and easy user interface so that almost anyone could pick it up and get rolling.
I had some hands on time when I was down in New York with Zipvo Real Estate Video Network and that’s really the field that I think this device is going to take off in the most. The two models, 60min for $179,99 and 30min for $149.99 made it so easy for us to record a property video and upload it through it’s built in USB. The only draw back is that their software is only easy for the third parties they’re working with instead of making it open source. Opening up their platform would be the smartest moves they could possibly make.

Remember those spy kits you had as a little kid? Well it looks like the guys over at ThinkGeek.com not only remember those kits, but found a product that’s got your decoder ring beat. Behold the 1.3 megapixel spy camera sunglasses!
These slick shades are equipped with UV400 polarized flip-up lens, a rechargable battery pack, USB mini interface, MP3 playback, a 1.3 megapixel camera with remote, and even 1GB of storage!
That’s a lot of features for a set of spy glasses that only cost $100. Especially considering the craptastic ones we had as kids that didn’t even block out the sun from our eyes.

Sony announced today a new digital camera for their Cyber-Shot line of imaging products. The DSC-H50 digital camera will offer high-resolution, high-speed, and 15X zoom capabilities to consumers starting in May, 2008. The new high-end camera comes equipped with a 3-inch LCD screen and lots of advanced imaging features including an advanced sports shooting mode, long distance flash (operational for objects up to 55 feet away from the camera,) face detection, NighShot technology for photo taking in dark conditions and infrared remote access. The Sony DSC-H50 is definitely a nicely designed digital camera with enough features to justify its $400 price tag.

Nikon is releasing their new digital SLR in the Spring of 2008. The new camera – which will be named the D60 – is on the lower end of the line. For now this camera is just a rumor and because of that we don’t have many details on it.
Another rumor that has been floating around the Nikon website was the news that production of the D40x – which received positive reviews – is being put to a standstill. If this is true than that might mean that the D60 is a replacement for the D40x. We hope that Nikon will reveal all in a couple of weeks.

Everyone wants a camcorder so that they will be able to capture every moment in their life. The one annoying thing about camcorders is that they are so bulky and sometimes they can be hard to take with you.
That is unless you carry around that hefty bag that was made for it – but that is never fun. Sanyo was smart enough to realize this problem and decided to rectify it by creating the new Xacti DMX-HD700 Camcorder – which has been created to fit easily into your pocket.
