It has been quite sometime now since Palm Pre launched last month. After much hype surrounding it, most gadget fans were overjoyed to finally get their hands on this phone. Of course there was much reason behind this frenzy. Palm Pre boasts of a breakthrough in their design which makes the phone look ultra sleek and the phone keypad is easy to use. Palm synergy helps you save conversations with one person in a single group. Needless to say it also supports email, GPS and Wi-Fi.
Save and share photos because the Palm Pre takes excellent pictures, which look even better on its rather vibrant touchscreen. The launch of the Palm Pre saw many excited buyers very happy with their new toy, but it is to be seen whether the phone lives up to their expectations.

Most of the Sony Ericson walkman phones are brilliant, although this one takes everything to a new level, as you slide the phone open, it’s a phone, as you slide it down (Closed) you’ve got a number of great music features and it acts as a MP3 player.
It’s quite a small phone, measuring at 75×44x11MM, it comes with a 8 megapixel camera and a wide VGA displays for a small 320×240 display screen, the phone also comes in with a 4GB hard drive built in. It’s a brilliant walkman / phone with a very nice smooth design and look to it.

With the advent of Twitter and Pownce into the social networking world, SMS texting has skyrocketed. Serious texters need a serious phone, so AT&T has answered that call with four QWERTY equipped “dumbphones”, one of which is supposedly the thinnest device which supports a full QWERTY keyboard.
The Pantech Matrix is a dual slider which will be available in blue and green. Up next is the Samsung Propel and though it doesn’t have Windows Mobile, it does offer 3G access. The Pantech Slate is the next addition, which lays its claim to being the thinnest device with a QWERTY keyboard. Last but not least is the Quickfire, which will bear AT&T branding. Think of it like AT&T’s version of the sidekick. Now you can text in style to, idk your bff Jill?

Over the years there have been a few cellphone concepts developed with wood in mind. LG most recently teased the public with faux wood concepts, and Hulger has actually built a wooden phone… but only about four people in the world could afford it. However, Nokia’s got the answer it seems. Their eco-team has designed and created the phone which you see here. The phone boasts an 8 megapixel camera in the handset, and appears to function just as any normal handset would. The thing probably isn’t coming to market, but it’s always nice to see off the wall concepts.

Earlier this month, we saw Mozilla CEO John Lilly claiming that Firefox mobile would be available within the next few weeks. The development track has been following schedule, with an additional bit of information. The first screen shots from the mobile browser have been available on the internet, and show Firefox Mobile running quite well on a Windows Mobile Professional touchscreen smartphone. The browser features full HTML browsing, which has become the industry standard for mobile browsing as more and more phones pick up the mini-computer moniker. No word on the release date, but if everything goes as planned, we should see it before the end of October.

It might be sooner than you think. The European Union initiated a Battery Directive in 2006 which aimed to make it easier to dispose of old batteries, but it looks like they’ll be taking it a step further with a New Battery Directive. This new directive proposes that all batteries should be able to be removed from their electronic devices for replacement and disposal. If this new directive goes through, it could mean trouble for the iPhone in Europe, as well as iPods and a few other non-Apple devices. It wouldn’t be the first time Apple has gotten into trouble with the EU, and it most certainly won’t be the last.

October 22 is a long way away, especially for those who are eagerly anticipating the G1, or GooglePhone. Surprisingly enough T-Mobile has answered the calls of thousands of G1 fans with a demo, perhaps taking a cue from Microsoft’s demo of the New Xbox Live experience. The emulator will help satisfy yourcuriosity concerning several features offered by the G1. While the emulator isn’t fully functional, as it doesn’t allow you to play around with some of the Google Street View features, it’s got lots of goodies to help you get acquainted with your soon to be electronic best friend.

The GreenHeart phone by Sony Ericsson has unfortunately been buried for quite some time. This interesting little device is suppose to be the most environmentally friendly phone to date. The entire case is made completely out of bio-plastics and recycled plastics. There won’t be any printed manuals with the phone either, everything would be available online. Plus it comes with a zero charger that has 3.5mW of standby power.
It’s not exactly the most beautiful phone we’ve ever seen, but considering it’s still just a concept, we’ll have to wait and see how that pans out. Just remember, this is one phone that you can throw out the window and not feel guilty about doing damage to the environment.

The number of mobile subscriptions in the world has skyrocketed. A recent report done by the UN’s International Telecommunications Union has just announced that by the end of 2008 we should expect the number of cellphone subscriptions to reach over 4 Billion. That’s a huge number considering that there are only an estimated 6.7 billion people in the world total! While this number is mildly altered by those who have multiple lines and phones, it’s quite a jump. The increase is over 700 million from last year’s final number thanks to countries like China, India, and Russia pumping up their economy.

The BlackBerry Bold is one of those items that fans of the popular cellphone have been dying to get their hands on. We’ve seen all sorts of reviews, specs, and even speculation on the released date, but nothing has been as concrete as the above image. While AT&T had already confirmed that the Bold would in fact be released in October, we didn’t have any sort of date. Now, thanks to this Best Buy computer screenshot, we can see that they should at least have the phone in stock by October 26th.
This could mean that the Bold will be hitting AT&T stores earlier than that (considering sometimes Best Buy isn’t the first one with the phones) so keep an eye pealed. We’ll see what we can do about keeping you posted as well.
