If you are like me, you have bumble fingers when it comes to smartphone keyboards and touch screens. Even laptop keyboards can be annoying at times. Well, a company named Scosche has come up with something kind of clever to address this issue. They put a water resistant keyboard on a roll up fabric that can be easily stored in a pocket or purse. And it only takes a small amount of room even though it’s a full size keyboard when stretched out.

The wireless connection is made through Bluetooth 2.0, so the device you want to use the keyboard with such as an iPad 2 will need to have this available for it to work. You just sync it to the device that you want to use it with and start typing. The keyboard will remain linked to that device even after its shut off, saving time in subsequent uses. The range, according to the company’s press release, is 30 feet, but honestly, most Bluetooth devices don’t get to the max, but this is really designed not to be too far from the device you are controlling as you’ll need to see the results of what you typed.

It is compatible with most of the major smartphone and laptop/desktop operating systems like Apple’s iOS, Google’s Android, Apple’s Mac OS X, and Microsoft Windows.

The keyboard pad comes with a USB to mini-USB cable so that the device can be plugged into a USB power source and be recharged. It was unclear whether or not you could use the cord as an adapter too, or strictly as a charging mechanism.

The price is $59.90, which is right in step with a wireless keyboard, and the fact that you can take it anywhere is a definite plus. Now if someone would just invent that roll up LCD monitor, I’d be in business. Grin. Anyway, you can find and order the Scosche freeKey Flexible Wireless Keyboard at their website at Scosche.com.
