Sylvania’s first leap into the world of netbooks was a flop to say the least, as they simply rebranded the Cloudbook to suit their needs. With the new G netbook coming closer to launch, not much was expected out of it until the price tag and specs were revealed.
For $299 you’ll be getting a 1.6GHz Intel Atom CPU, 1GB RAM, 80GB hard drive, and an 8.9in screen with 1024×600 resolution. The system itself comes loaded with XP or Ubuntu, but unfortunately you can’t customize it’s ugly appearance.
If they can keep the price tag at this range, look out Asus!

More information on the stylish Dell Vostro 2510 laptop has just been leaked! I would seem that this shiny new piece of kit will be ready for configuration on the Dell website with a 3 to 5 day shipping period.
The base unit costs $899 and comes equipped with a 1.8GHz Core 2 Duo T5670 CPU, 2GB RAM, 160GB hard drive, an a 256MB NVIDIA GeForce 8400M GS video card. You can easily customize the system to break the $2,000 mark by increasing the processor, doubling the ram, and a Blu-ray drive, and plenty more.
Head on over to Dell’s website to customize your own.

Those holding out for a 6-cell MSI Wind will be sad to hear that the longer battery models will actually come with a $50 premium tacked on. This move comes as a surprise considering that when it was initially revealed, the release of a 6-cell version would not cost anything extra. However, now that online retailers are starting to sell these bad boys from between $559 to $599.
That’s pretty awkward when MSI has officially released the MSRP at $549.99. But what’s more awkward is the fact that those who pre-ordered the unit from Buy.com for $499.99 are now being issued a cancellation notice for their MSI Wind.
Not a good second impression MSI.

Just like the Nintendo DS, the iPod tends to be dressed to commemorate or simply take advantage of people willing to buy something just because of it’s pretty new exterior. So adding to the line up of Harry Potter, Madonna, and Tony Hawk, we can now safely exhale as the 90210 iPod nano is now available. The CBS store is apparently the only place that you can buy this 8GB nano for $269. There aren’t a ton of them, so you better act fast if you’re interested!
The color choices are black, pink, green, blue, or silver and they each include up to a 30 character engraving on the back.
I’m just waiting for the Get Smart iPhone!

Comcast is att it again with their Triple Play give-a-way. This time, instead of giving away Eee PC’s or a PS3, they’re giving away a Nintendo Wii with every service plan. As long as you don’t have an existing Comcast account, signing up for their digital cable, VOIP, and high speed internet for a two year contract will earn you a Nintendo Wii.
This comes as a surprise to many as their has yet to be a surplus of Nintendo Wii’s on any store shelves all these months after the fact. So either this means there while be an influx in the number of Nintendo Wii’s available or that Nintendo and Comcast are rubbing shoulders.
If only they could work together and make their own Sega Channel.

Those looking to pick up a brand new video card but are short on cash are in luck. NVIDIA, makers of the ever popular GTX 280 graphics card have just revealed their GeForce 9500 GT PCIe 2.0 compatible card at less than $100. The core specs of the card include a 550MHz core clock, 1,400MHz shader clock, 32 stream processors, 800MHz memory clock, twin dual-link DVI ports, and a choice between 256MB and 512MB of video RAM, depending on how much you want to spend.
The initial reviews have placed this card faster than the Radeon HD 3650 and put it on par with the GeForce 8600 GTS. If you don’t mind being a few steps behind the cutting edge, this is the perfect video card for a budget build.

Sega Genesis fans rejoice! If you haven’t been able to keep up with the batteries required to power your Sega Nomad and have only been playing a few games, the Blaze might be just the gadget for you.
This handheld MegaDrive system comes loaded with 20 different games, ranging from awesome to sucktastic, and has the exact same controller layout as a regular Sega Genesis controller.
Here’s a list of the games that come loaded onto the Blaze after the jump:

Apparently there’s a new search engine ready to take on Google. Claiming to have indexed over 120 billion webpages, over three times as much as Google, this $33 million backed company isn’t kidding around.
Lead developer Anna Patterson left Google in 2006 to work on this project, with another 2 Google developers as well. The company, spelt Cuil but pronounced Cool, presents the information in a more magazine style, trying to bring back the black and white scheme we never knew we missed. the claim to provide more relevant information then Google does, but feel free to try searching the same keywords in both, especially your name or a website name, and you’ll soon find out how lacking it is in comparison.
How can you try and make a new Google when the flaws in Google aren’t that big?

To clear the air over the recent accusations that Steve Jobs has cancer, the man himself called over to the New York Times reporter Joe Nocera, and started off the conversation in this fashion:
“This is Steve Jobs. You think I’m an arrogant [expletive] who thinks he’s above the law, and I think you’re a slime bucket who gets most of his facts wrong.”
Afterwards, Jobs agreed to an off record interview where he actually disclosed that it was not cancer, but an unrelated and unserious health issue that was causing him to look thinner than usual. Jobs also stated that his health is none of the publics concern, but Nocera seemed to feel otherwise in his article published today in the New York Times.
Should Steve Jobs health have this much impact on Apple Stock?

George Carlin put it best when he said:
“The very existence of flamethrowers proves that some time, somewhere, someone said to themselves, ‘You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I’m just not close enough to get the job done.’”
While we haven’t found a USB Flamethrower yet, we have found a USB Rocket Launcher.
In comparison to the previous USB Missile Launcher, this device actually launches twice the range, making it very capable of hitting your cubicle mates with ease. The software is compatable with Windows operating systems only (sorry Mac guys, but you’re pacifists anyway…) and allows you rotate the USB Rocket Launcher up to 360 degrees horizontally and 45 degrees vertically.
That’s a coverage area of over 113 square meters. Kiss your office opponents goodbye.
