Microsoft has just announced a new web cam that is sure to turn a few eyeballs, and possibly more. The Microsoft LifeCam VX-5000 web cam, which is slated to come out in June is coming with a flexible base, so you can put it basically anywhere you want to. It will cost $50, and is a pretty good investment considering the picture quality will be much better than half of those integrated ones that come with the laptops.
In a shrinking external web cam market, look for this new addition to be a major player, and possibly the most popularly bought and used one come summer. Maybe some other brands will be jumping on the bandwagon as well, though.
