Microsoft has already started working on how they can improve on their popular Xbox 360 console. They are in the middle of creating a “first-party motion-control peripheral”. Microsoft is working with Gyration – motion control expert – to help create the prototype – which should be finished by the end of next year – if not sooner.
As is expected Microsoft released a statement that neither confirmed nor denied these rumors. A representative from Microsoft stated, “Microsoft does not comment on rumors or speculation. And I have nothing further to share.” Right now Microsoft is one of the only gaming manufacturers that has not offer motion-sensing to their controllers. Gates has stated in the past that, “There’s room for innovation here, but moving that controller around — it’s something that’s not mainstream for most games …there’s a lot to be learned about these controllers.” This was said back in 2006 so we hope that they have learned everything and are finally going to give the controller a new edge to it.
